Industry Leader’s Forum

The School of Tourism, have partnered with Brisbane Marketing to engage dynamic world-class leaders in dialogue regarding today’s global issues and challenges. The School has developed a national and international reputation of producing results that work to enhance operational and strategic practice in tourism and related industries. This Forum informs, challenges and inspires its audiences on the topics of leadership, sustainability, and excellence in business practices across the Tourism arena.

The Forum gives leading members of Queensland’s business and political community the opportunity to hear pre-imminent speakers explore trends, issues and ideas that are shaping the nature of our global industry, while facilitating high–level networking opportunities.

Meet the Industry Leaders Event (MILE)

Now in it s seventh year, the Meet the Industry Leaders Event (MILE) provides students with the opportunity to meet industry leaders and practitioners from hospitality organisations, professional associations, government regulators. This event is also supported by School of Tourism faculty and staff.

Representatives of Australia’s industry, peak organisations and government bodies across the spectrum of events, hospitality, leisure, recreation, sport, tourism and travel will provide insights and advice to students on career pathways and opportunities in their organisations.

This is an unparalleled opportunity for students to “get the inside knowledge” in your chosen field.

The School of Tourism’s Adjunct Professor’s are recognised as world leaders in Tourism and its related sectors.  Students enrolled in the revamped MGTS3000 Professional Development course have a unique opportunity to discuss and gain insights into global issues affecting industry with the distinguished panel.

The Sebel & Citigate King George Square is ideally located in the heart of the city opposite City Hall.

Transport

Parking at and near the venue is limited so students are advised to consider public transport. Bus and train stations are located nearby and the City Cat stops at the Queen Street terminal just a 10 minute walk to King George Square.

The dress code for the event is business attire.

This is a professional development opportunity provided exclusively for students of the School of Tourism. It is also an opportunity to network with professional representatives from industry. For that reason parents, partners and friends from outside of the School are not eligible to attend.
