Today the UQ School of Tourism is the only University School in Australia to be TedQual accredited by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO). The School is a founding member of the UNESCAP Asia-Pacific Education and Training Institutes in Tourism, a member of the Pacific Asia Travel Association Education & Training Committee and a member of the prestigious TTF Australia, a national member-funded CEO forum for the Australian transport, property, tourism and infrastructure sectors. The University of Queensland is also an active member of the Australian Group of Eight ‘sandstone’ universities, and the only one to feature comprehensive programs in tourism, sport and recreation, events and hospitality management. The School offers a sophisticated suite of undergraduate, postgraduate coursework and postgraduate research programs. The School of Tourism retains an impressive list of academic and research staff who actively research and publish, as well as a notable assembly of adjunct professors who represent leadership across a range of tourism-related fields. Research expertise within the School focuses on tourist behaviour and visitor experiences, sustainable events and leisure lifestyles, tourism workforce development and sustainable tourism destinations. The School currently manages six international journals in these areas:
